Sinn U15 Limited Edition German Submarine
For 20 years, Sinn's U Series watches have been built using the same special grade of steel as German Naval submarines. Those submarine steel cases and bezels are built from steel that Sinn receives from ThyssenKrupp, a German engineering company that develops steel for the outer hulls of German submarines.
Rather than form the case and bezel of this watch from steel meant for submarines, the case and bezel of the new Sinn U15 Limited Edition was formed from a submarine — more specifically, the steel hull of a decommissioned German U15. The steel used in this watch has actually spent decades under the surface roaming Earth's oceans in service of the German Navy.
To emphasize how special this model is, Sinn has chosen to fully satinize the case, bezel, and bracelet of this watch, a first for any Sinn U Series model. The unique blueish green bubble dial is complemented by matching blueish green markers around the bezel.
Sinn describes the color of this glossy dial as dark blueish green with a subtle gradient. The air bubbles rising from 6 to 12 give the dial a three dimensional look while remaining perfectly smooth.
The overall color of the dial can appear to change between depending on the lighting conditions, and the "bubbles" really pop in bright light.

History of Sinn Watches
Founded in 1961 by Helmut Sinn, a former World War II pilot and blind flight instructor, Sinn Watch Company quickly gained recognition for its aviation-inspired timepieces. Specializing in navigation clocks and pilot chronographs, Sinn's reputation for precision and durability was cemented during the 1980s and 1990s when their watches accompanied German astronauts on several space missions. These accomplishments demonstrated the brand's commitment to creating reliable timepieces capable of withstanding extreme conditions.
A new era began in 1994 when certified engineer Lothar Schmidt acquired the company, introducing significant technological advancements. Under Schmidt's leadership, Sinn pioneered innovations such as Ar-Dehumidifying Technology, DIAPAL lubrication-free escapements, and TEGIMENT hardened steel cases. Today, Sinn remains at the forefront of horological innovation, producing high-quality timepieces that blend traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. The brand's dedication to excellence and continuous improvement ensures its lasting legacy in the world of high-end watchmaking.
