The Minehunter
The DOXA SUB Minehunter is a purpose-built timepiece developed exclusively for United States Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians. Built on the proven DOXA SUB 300β platform, selected for its reliability, legibility, and durability in demanding maritime environments, the Minehunter reflects the discipline, precision, and responsibility carried by Navy EOD divers operating in some of the most unforgiving conditions on earth.
The name Minehunter is not symbolic, It's occupational. Navy EOD technicians are tasked with locating, identifying, rendering safe, and disposing of underwater mines and unexploded ordnance in littoral and open-water environments. The watch mirrors that mission profile. It is direct, legible, and built for function before anything else.
The visual theme of the Minehunter is deliberate: red, white, and blue. The dial is executed in deep navy blue with high-contrast white and red markers designed for rapid recognition underwater. The hands follow the same philosophy, prioritizing clarity over ornamentation. Red accents are placed intentionally for critical timing reference, while white luminous elements ensure legibility in low-light and submerged conditions. A date window at three o’clock provides daily utility without compromising dial balance. Surrounding the display is DOXA’s signature unidirectional rotating bezel in black ceramic, calibrated in meters, with red timing accents for clear elapsed-time tracking in operational conditions.
At its core, the Minehunter is powered by a Swiss mechanical automatic self-winding movement with 38 hours of power reserve. The movement is decorated by DOXA and engineered for dependable daily performance. The watch is housed in DOXA’s SUB 300β stainless steel case, measuring 42.50 mm in diameter, 44.50 mm lug-to-lug, and slimmer at 11.95 mm in height. A screw-down crown, stainless steel screw-down caseback, and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal support consistent water resistance to 30 ATM, equivalent to 300 meters or 984 feet. A helium release valve is integrated into the case to support pressure equalization in saturation environments.
Each Minehunter is delivered with both a stainless steel “Beads of Rice” bracelet and a NATO strap, allowing the wearer to configure the watch based on mission requirements, dive gear, or personal preference. The bracelet is secured by a folding clasp with a ratcheting wetsuit extension, providing quick adjustment in real-world conditions.
The caseback is where the Minehunter becomes personal. The polished stainless steel back features a sandblasted center with a deep-etched U.S. Navy EOD rating badge, surrounded by identifying engravings and individual serialization. Each watch may also be personalized with custom engraving chosen by the recipient, reinforcing that this is not a mass-produced commemorative piece, but a watch tied directly to individual service.
The Minehunter is delivered in a dedicated presentation case finished in Navy blue with red trim, featuring DOXA 1889 branding, the U.S. Navy EOD crest, and the American flag. The packaging reflects the same red, white, and blue theme that defines the watch itself.
Availability of the Minehunter is restricted exclusively to United States Navy EOD personnel. It is not available for general sale and was never intended to be. The Minehunter exists for a specific community and is earned through qualification, responsibility, and service within one of the Navy’s most demanding operational specialties.
Secure your watch today by placing your pre-order before May 15th. Once orders close, production begins and availability ends.
An additional Blue Rubber strap with clasp can be added for $440. See link at the bottom of the page to add this option.
